KEEP ON THE FIRING LINE!
Hello Everyone!
Isn't it amazing how the past stays in our memory. For instance, the song, Keep On The Firing Line. I remember as a child, and teen, how we would sing this song and rejoice as the power of the Holy Spirit swept through the congregation causing folks to shout Glory,! and Praise the Lord!, and big hearty AMEN's traveled throughout the congregation. I'm sure a lot of you remember those days to.
Now back to "Keep On The Firing Line". You see the author of that old song knew what it would take to get to Heaven. The words ring out the truth as it so appropriately says, you must fight, be brave, against all evil.
For the past few years, we (the Church) have all tried to not get involved, to stand back and let God take care of it. This is an admirable quality, but I think we must be like King David of old and recognize the enemies of the Lord, stand up for what we believe and know to be God given truths, and proclaim to the world that Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. That He loves us so much, that He bore our sins at Calvary, He died, and He rose again to prove that He did in fact have the power to forgive sin. And now He reigns with the Father, preparing a place for us to spend eternity basking in the glories of the Lord.
Yes, the old songs are still out there. They carry a meaning much stronger than folks want to admit, and they proclaim the Word of God. Yes, I like singing praises to the Lord, but I also like to hear that I am redeemed through the blood of the Lamb. That Amazing Grace lead me away from the world. That Power in the Blood washed my sins away. That the old rugged cross does make a difference, and Jesus is the sweetest name I know.
I know you are asking, where are you going with this? Its simple, we must be strong to stand up and represent Jesus. We must be brave, for Satan wants to deceive us and make us fearful of his lies and temptations. Just as the old hymn says, we must stand against all evil, lift up the name of the Lord, and proclaim with conviction that Jesus is Lord of Lords, and that He still saves and forgives from sin. Finally, we must serve Him so that we can live in reality as we all get to heaven.
"After all, it's not about us, it's about HIM!
In closing, we want to say THANK YOU to all of the folks out there that support our ministry. You open doors for us to come in and sing and share the glory of Christ, some of you provide special love offerings that help keep us on the road, and others support us in prayer and lift us up before the Lord. We could not do this without you, so once again we say THANK YOU and GOD BLESS!
